MARINA, BOATYARD AND MOORINGS SITE - INSPECTION AND ACCESS

There are locked gates, so please telephone one of the numbers shown under "CONTACT" for instructions and how to identify the sections of land available. Where possible, please call or e-mail a few days before.

The nearest postcode is M and is that of Elmhaven Marina, but please do not use their entrance which runs over a railway crossing. Access to the site is shown coloured brown on the Plan. There is direct road access, but with a height restriction of 2.1 metres, so boats higher than this have to come by water. Elmhaven Marina only has access across a locked level crossing and we do not have any right of access over this level crossing, although it may be possible to come to an arrangement with them if you can offer something in exchange. When visiting, please follow the instructions given below.

The land is accessed from Formby Road which is part of the A228 Rochester Road and is 2 miles south of the motorway bridge on the west bank of the River Medway.

From junction 2 of the M2 motorway, follow signs for the A228 towards West Malling. After about 2 miles you will see the sign for Elmhaven Marina on your left. Continue on a little further on your left, until a second pair of gates, which will be open and have a white "Medway" sign on them. Turn into this entrance. You will see four green electricity boxes inside the entrance. A track, shown brown on the site plan under "Prices", will take you under a railway bridge (2.1 metres headroom and with another locked gate) towards the river. Turn left just before the river and continue past the last area of fenced land which brings you onto the site for sale.

The Marina, boatyard and moorings site is a little after the last heavily occupied plot (several boats and stored items). Go past the post numbered 9 near the high water mark until you reach post 10. This marks the boundary. The rear boundary is the railway hedge and the far boundary the chain and post fence.

You may inspect at any time after contacting us for the gate combinations, but please take care in this river side environment. When leaving, please ensure you have relocked the gates. The site is very secure with no public rights of access.

As the traffic is fast along Formby Road, when leaving, you may prefer to make your turn to the left, and make any U-turn a little further along, perhaps by the old factory entrance on the opposite side.
